NLP, Neuro Linguistic Programming, looks at the thoughts, language and patterns of behaviour within individuals. This is individual to each human and it is about addressing those behaviours that no longer serve you and using various strategies and techniques to help instil new ways of being. There are a range of techniques available that can be utilised to deal with limiting beliefs and negative thought processes.
‘Neuro’ refers to the brain. How the nervous system via our five senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell as well are our own self talk, communicates to our mind, forms the ‘linguistic’ part. Those messages impact our behaviours and actions to achieve our desired outcomes. This is the ‘programming’ element.
By looking at how your ‘language’ is communicating with your ‘mind’, then you can impact your own behaviours in a way to achieve your desired outcomes. It is about achieving the best version of yourself.
NLP has been defined as the “users manual for your mind” because studying NLP gives us insights into how our thinking patterns can affect every aspect of our lives.’ (ANLP International CIC, 2021)
Time line therapy is an extension of NLP and hypnotherapy. It is utilised to help release painful emotions and negative feelings from the past as well as helping you to clear limiting beliefs that have prevented you from moving forward.
